Nucleus Media Rights has secured a new collaboration with Anthony LaMolinara as the Academy Award winner is now on board to direct two episodes of our upcoming period drama Heresy.
Set in thirteenth century medieval Italy, when the country was engulfed in a struggle for power between the Catholic Church, the Holy Roman Empire and French Templars, the series centers around a mysterious young woman whose life is intrinsically linked to the destiny of the world.
LaMolinara is a multi-talented writer, director, painter, sculptor, cameraman, animator, and musician. He began his career in 1975 as a freelance lighting cameraman working on documentaries (Ravi Shankar, Theodore Bundy, Angela Davis), and commercials and independent films. His animation/VFX experience includes Toy Story (1995), Stuart Little (1999, Academy Award® nominee, Best Visual Effects), Hollow Man (2000, Academy Award® nominee, Best Visual Effects), and the development of Avatar as LaMolinara designed the famous blue characters (Na’vi). LaMolinara also took home the Academy Award for Best Visual Effects in 2005 for his work on Spider-Man 2.
LaMolinara is thus joining lead role Rudolph Martin as well as creator and lead writer Mark Melville. Production on Heresy is scheduled to commence in Spring 2020 for delivery in Q2 2021.
